Pune, 20 November 2025: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune Police has recorded the statement of Sheetal Tejwani in case of suspected misuse of government land in Mundhwa. Tejwani appeared before the police after receiving a notice. Earlier, statements of three others had also been recorded as part of the investigation.
According to Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, notices were issued to Tejwani, Digvijay Patil, partner in Amedia Enterprises, and Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale for recording their statements. On Monday, November 17, officials recorded the statement of Hemant Gawande. Tejwani appeared the following day for her deposition.
The case came to light after Amedia Enterprises, a company in which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar is a partner, allegedly purchased around 40 acres of land in Mundhwa through irregular means.
The deal, valued at around ₹300 crore, led to the registration of a case at Bavdhan Police Station under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The investigation was later transferred from Khadak Police Station to the EOW.
A total of 275 individuals are connected to this land transaction. The land was reportedly granted to Tejwani through a power of attorney, and the inquiry now focuses on whether the individuals received any compensation and how ownership rights were transferred. On Monday, between ten and twelve people appeared before the EOW for questioning.
Meanwhile, Digvijay Patil has not yet responded to the notice issued to him for recording his statement, police officials confirmed.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that Tejwani’s statement has been taken into account and documents from various government departments have been sought for verification. He added that Tejwani may be called again if required as the investigation progresses.
