

In a shocker incident, in the early hours of Sunday, two men were killed and another critically injured when a speeding car crashed into a pillar of Pune Metro’s Bund Garden station. Koregaon Park police said the accident occurred around 5 a.m. on Bund Garden Road near the station.
After the accident, local residents and police rushed the injured to Sassoon General Hospital. The vehicle had three passengers, all of whom sustained very severe injuries. Doctors confirmed the deaths of two men, identified as Hrithik Bhandare and Yash Bhandare, while a third remains in critical condition.
Senior Inspector Sangeeta Jadhav of the Koregaon Park police station, which is under the Pune city police, mentioned that Initial investigations suggested that the car crashed into the metro station pillar at a very high velocity.
It was stated by a representative from the Koregaon Park police station that the precise cause of the accident is being determined. Initial findings indicate that control was lost by the driver, resulting in a collision with the pillar.
Police suspect drunk driving, as beer bottles were found in the car. Investigations are underway to determine whether any other factors contributed to the incident. CCTV footage from the area is currently under review, and further details are awaited.
