

Pune, 30th July 2026: The Pune Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions in the Swargate and Sarasbaug areas on Saturday (August 1) to facilitate the Anna Bhau Sathe Jayanti celebrations. Traffic movement on several major roads will be regulated from 2 PM onwards, depending on the movement of the procession and crowd.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and use the notified alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Deshbhakt Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk to Sarasbaug: Traffic towards Sarasbaug will remain closed.
Y Junction Flyover (Jedhe Chowk): Vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards Sarasbaug via the flyover.
Vega Centre to Sarasbaug Grade Separator: Entry for vehicles will remain closed.
Swatantryaveer Savarkar Chowk to Puram Chowk: Traffic on this stretch will remain restricted.
Jedhe Chowk to Sinhagad Road: Travel via Satara Road – Volga Chowk (Laxminarayan Chowk) – Mitra Mandal Chowk – Swatantryaveer Savarkar Chowk.
Sinhagad Road to Swargate: Use Dandekar Bridge – Nath Pai Chowk – N.C. Phadke Chowk – Puram Chowk – Tilak Road – Jedhe Chowk.
Vehicles from Katraj: Turn left at Volga Chowk instead of heading towards Sarasbaug via the flyover.
Vehicles near Vega Centre: Divert via Ghorpade Peth Garden – Rashtrabhushan Chowk – Hirabag Chowk.
Traffic from Dandekar Bridge towards Puram Chowk: Proceed via Nath Pai Chowk – N.C. Phadke Chowk – Kalpana Hotel Junction – Tilak Road – Puram Chowk.
Follow diversion signs and traffic police instructions.
Use the designated alternate routes to avoid delays.
Plan your journey in advance, especially during the afternoon hours.
Expect temporary congestion around Swargate, Sarasbaug and adjoining roads.
