Pune, 23 March 2026: Traffic Police on Monday issued a public advisory after a canal breach behind Magarpatta led to heavy waterlogging in the Hadapsar area, severely disrupting traffic movement on key routes.
According to officials, the Magarpatta–Mundhwa Road has been badly affected, with water accumulation bringing vehicular movement almost to a standstill. The situation is most severe at Mundhwa Chowk, where traffic congestion has intensified due to restricted road access.
Authorities have warned that the waterlogging may persist for the next 10 to 12 hours, and have urged citizens to avoid the stretch and opt for alternative routes via Hadapsar, Ghorpadi, BT Kawade Road, and Keshavnagar to ease pressure on the affected corridor.
“Citizens are requested to use alternative routes, follow traffic police instructions, and cooperate with the administration,” said Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Pune City.
Traffic police teams have been deployed on the ground to manage the situation, while commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and expect delays in the area.
