

Pune, 18 February 2026: Traffic diversions will be implemented across central Pune on Thursday (February 19) due to Shiv Jayanti processions and related events.
Several key roads will witness temporary traffic diversions, and heavy vehicles will not be allowed on procession routes. Emergency and essential service vehicles will be given priority.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav appealed to citizens to avoid procession routes and plan their travel accordingly.
Vehicles travelling from Jijamata Chowk towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road must take a diversion from S.G. Barve Chowk via Jangli Maharaj Road and proceed towards Khandoji Baba Chowk and Lokmanya Tilak Road.
Traffic coming from Ganesh Road–Daruwala Bridge towards Phadke Haud Chowk and Jijamata Chowk will be diverted at Daruwala Bridge Chowk.
Vehicles moving from Kelkar Road via Appa Balwant Chowk towards Jogeshwari Temple Chowk and Budhwar Chowk will be diverted as required.
During the procession on Laxmi Road up to Sonya Maruti Chowk, vehicles will be rerouted from Sant Kabir Chowk.
Motorists travelling from Puram Chowk towards Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road must instead use Tilak Road, Alka Talkies Chowk and Namdar Gopal Krishna Gokhale (Fergusson) Road.
After the procession begins, vehicles from Appa Balwant Chowk will not be allowed towards Budhwar Chowk or Futka Buruj via Bajirao Road and must proceed straight through Kelkar Road.
Until the procession crosses Gadgil Statue Chowk, all vehicles will be diverted via the bridge near Swatantryaveer Savarkar Bhavan towards Balgandharva Rangmandir.
