Pune, 1st April 2026: The Pune Traffic Police has initiated a citywide drive to remove abandoned vehicles from public spaces, aiming to improve traffic flow and overall sanitation. Several such vehicles have already been cleared from key roads as part of the campaign.
Officials noted that many vehicles had been left unattended for long periods, turning into dumping spots for garbage and creating foul odours. These vehicles not only blocked road space but also posed environmental and hygiene concerns for nearby residents.
During the recent action, traffic police teams identified and removed multiple abandoned vehicles, helping restore smoother movement and cleaner surroundings in affected areas. The drive is part of ongoing efforts to keep Pune’s roads obstruction-free and better managed.
Authorities have also appealed to citizens to support the initiative by reporting abandoned vehicles in their neighbourhoods. They encouraged residents to use the PTP mobile application to upload details and locations, enabling quicker action and helping maintain safer and cleaner city roads.
