Pune, 13 December 2025: The Pune Police have declared traffic restrictions and diversions on Fergusson College Road starting today and continuing until December 21 to control crowd flow and avoid traffic jams.
The restrictions have been imposed due to the Pune Book Festival 2025, which is being held at Fergusson College. Police officials said a large turnout is expected, including VVIPs, VIPs, students from educational institutions, and citizens from across the city. Considering the anticipated footfall, traffic regulation has become necessary in and around the area.
To avoid traffic jams on FC Road and Jangli Maharaj Road, the police have appealed to citizens to use alternative routes during this period. Vehicles heading towards Karve Road have been advised to take Bal Gandharva Chowk and proceed via alternative connecting roads, while those travelling from Karve Road towards Shivajinagar should use routes via Nal Stop, Law College Road, and Senapati Bapat Road.
For visitors attending the book festival, entry for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and buses has been arranged through Fergusson College Gate No. 3 near Sant Tukaram Maharaj Paduka Chowk, leading to the designated parking ground inside the campus. Exit for vehicles will be provided through Gate No. 4, while pedestrians are requested to use Gate No. 2.
Police have urged citizens to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and plan their travel in advance to avoid inconvenience during the festival period.
