

Pune, 26 December 2025: The Pune Police have cracked two house burglary cases reported from Uttamnagar and Warje Malwadi areas, arresting four accused and recovering stolen property worth nearly ₹1.5 crore. The action was taken by the Warje Malwadi Police following a detailed investigation that relied heavily on CCTV footage and technical analysis.
According to police officials, a burglary was reported from a locked flat in the Uttamnagar area, where thieves had stolen around 580 grams of gold jewellery and cash amounting to ₹4.5 lakh. Taking note of the seriousness of the crime, senior officers instructed the Warje Malwadi Police to conduct a thorough probe. During the investigation, police teams scanned footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras in the surrounding area.
The inquiry led to the involvement of Arvind Pralhadsing Rajpurohit (29), a resident of Mhalunge, who was found to be related to the complainant. After sustained questioning, police recovered gold jewellery and cash worth nearly ₹1 crore from him. He has since been handed over to the Uttamnagar Police for further investigation.
In a separate burglary case from the Warje Malwadi area, police arrested three accused based on information received from informers and technical inputs. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajay Bhagwat Fapal (19), Kailas Datta Fapal (25), and Balaji Madhukar Dhage (24). From their possession, police seized 194 grams of gold jewellery and cash worth ₹19.24 lakh.
Police officials stated that the coordinated effort of officers and staff led to the swift resolution of both cases. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused were involved in other similar crimes in the city.
