During the review, Ram set a firm deadline of December-end 2026 for completion of the project. He also directed officials and contractors to increase manpower and improve execution speed to ensure timely delivery.

The project is considered crucial for easing traffic pressure at one of Pune’s busiest junctions.

The Commissioner also reviewed the proposed infrastructure upgrade at Shastrinagar Junction, which includes a 750-metre, six-lane grade separator from Aga Khan Palace to Gunjan Chowk and a 700-metre, four-lane flyover from Aga Khan Palace to Golf Chowk.

Emphasising urgency, Ram instructed that the grade separator must be completed within four months, while the entire Shastrinagar project is to be completed by March 2027.

Officials have been asked to ensure coordination between agencies to avoid delays and meet the set deadlines.

Once completed, the projects are expected to significantly improve traffic flow across Shastrinagar Junction, Nagar Road, Kalyani Nagar, Gunjan Chowk and Golf Chowk.

PMC officials believe that strict adherence to the newly set deadlines will help reduce congestion and provide long-term relief to commuters in these high-traffic corridors.
