According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury is expected to climb further and may cross 35°C in the next four to five days. This steady rise has brought noticeable heat across the city, even though February is yet to end.

While mornings still offer slight relief with a mild chill in the air, the minimum temperature has risen to between 18°C and 20°C. Officials said that early morning cold conditions have almost disappeared, and even nights are turning warmer.

Compared to previous years, this February has recorded an increase of nearly 5°C in minimum temperatures. On Thursday, the temperature remained about 5.5°C above the monthly average.

The sky is expected to remain mostly clear throughout the day, with no signs of rainfall. Strong sunshine during the afternoon may reduce humidity, leading to dry weather conditions.

Weather experts stated, “Moisture from the Bay of Bengal and changing wind patterns are contributing to the rising temperatures, and this upward trend is likely to continue for the next four to five days.”
