This incident comes just a day after another deadly accident in the same locality. On Sunday evening, a 19-year-old national-level football player lost his life after being hit by a water tanker near Cloud 9 Sainik Vihar society road in NIBM Annexe, Mohammadwadi.

The back-to-back fatalities have intensified concerns among residents about the movement of heavy water tankers through narrow and crowded residential roads.

Heavy tankers are moving recklessly through residential areas, and there is no strict monitoring. These roads are not meant for such vehicles, and it is putting lives at risk, said a local resident.

Residents have repeatedly raised safety issues, pointing to rash driving, lack of enforcement, and increasing tanker traffic as major threats to pedestrians and motorists in the area.
