PUNE: A 26-year-old woman was found dead in her flat in Manikbaug area of Sinhgad road on Monday evening. The flat was ransacked and there are strangulation marks on her neck, thus police suspect that she was murdered.

The deceased has been identified as Tejasha Shamrao Payal, a native of Beed district. She was an MBA graduate and worked with a private firm in Hinjawadi.

According to police, she lived in Pune with her two sisters and mother. They had gone to their native place for Diwali vacation. Tejasha had returned alone while her mother and sisters stayed back there.

As she was not responding to phone calls for the last two days, her mother came to Pune on Monday afternoon. She reached the flat in Radhakrishna Apartment and found Tejasha lying unconscious on bed and clothes scattered over the bed and floor.

Police officials said that the body has been taken to Sassoon Hospital for post mortem, which will be conducted today.
