

Pune, 23 February 2026: A major fire broke out on the open premises of the Land Records Office in Yerwada on Monday afternoon, causing damage to more than 50 parked vehicles.
The incident occurred around 12:30 pm and triggered panic in the area as flames quickly spread among two-wheelers and four-wheelers stationed in the compound.
According to officials, thick smoke was seen rising from the premises, prompting an immediate alert to the Pune Fire Brigade. Four fire tenders were dispatched to the spot without delay. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby buildings and government offices.
A fire department official said, The fire was reported around 12:30 pm. Four fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. Our team managed to bring the blaze under control in time, preventing further damage.
No injuries have been reported so far. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Further investigation is underway.
