Pune, 15 January 2026: After a gap of nearly four years, Pune district is ready for elections to 73 Zilla Parishad groups and 146 Panchayat Samiti wards. A total of 29,76,454 voters are registered for the polls, including 14,49,373 women voters and 95 voters from the third gender category.

To conduct the election smoothly, the district administration has set up 3,605 polling stations across the district. For this, 7,931 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and 3,966 control units have been made available.

Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi said the administration was well prepared, as instructions were given even before the Election Commission formally announced the polls for 12 Zilla Parishads. Based on these directions, all arrangements were completed in advance.

In terms of voter numbers, Indapur taluka has the highest with 3,21,002 voters. It is followed by Junnar with 3,07,223 voters and Shirur with 3,01,956 voters, making these three talukas the biggest voting zones in the district.

To manage the election process, a total of 23,545 officers and staff have been deployed. This includes presiding officers, polling officers, and support staff at polling stations.

Election officers and assistant election officers have been appointed for all 13 talukas, along with 12 district-level coordination officers. The locations for nomination filing, scrutiny, and vote counting have also been finalised.
