Punekars give big thumbs up to PMPML’s ATAL bus service

Pune: The PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal) recently announced a new bus service ‘ATAL’ (Aligning Transit on All Lanes) which has five km travelling, with five minutes’ frequency at Rs five ticket fare.

The ATAL fast mobility bus services was launched on Dussehra for core city areas of Pune as well as Pimpri-Chinchwad is receiving good response from passengers. With over 50,000 passengers using the service every day, over two lakh commuters have used the service since its inaugural. According to PMPML officials, 164 buses are plying on 62 routes since few days.

Most of the buses being used for the service are midi-buses developed by the PMPML to function in jam-packed city areas. The PMPML has also identified 37 new routes after feedback from commuters, drivers, conductors and other PMPML staff.

The buses under this route have displayed the board and also mentioned the ticket fare is Rs five for five km resulting demand of passengers to introduce many buses. Over two lakh passengers are ferried in the service till date.

Routes such as Swargate-Deccan-Shivajinagar, Dattwadi-Pune railway station, Swargate-Pune Railway Station, Shivajinagar-Swargate, Swargate-Pune Railway Station, Deccan to Pulgate and Deccan to Pune Railway Station among others are identified in the core city areas.
