Pune: Sanidhya Shah and Vivek Wanarase from VIT’s PVP College of Architecture (CoA), Pune, won the first prize at the fourth edition of ‘The Drawing Board’ competition organised for the architecture students from the South East Asian region.
The competition was organised by Mindspace Architects, Bangalore, and Rohan Builders. This year’s design challenge aimed at creating a dialogue between old heritage structures surrounding urban community. The contestants had to come up with ideas to establish such a relationship between the 140-year-old heritage water tower located at Wakdewadi near Shivajinagar and the surrounding urban community, where this structure goes nearly unnoticed.
Both the winners Shah and Wanarase also won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and an opportunity to intern with Rohan Builders.
With this, PVP College’s Ravi Varma, Vaibhavi Pujari and Ashutosh Mundada who occupied the third position won Rs 25,000 with a certificate.
