Rains may continue in the city till Monday

PUNE: With a cloudy evening on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has further predicted thundery activity along with light to moderate rains very likely on Saturday. 

Pune on Friday recorded the day temperature at 30.6 degrees Celsius and 20.9 degrees Celsius at night.

As per IMD, the rainfall may continue in the city till October 14. After that as per the forecast, there might be partly cloudy skies.

For Maharashtra, the MeT department has predicted that isolated parts in central Maharashtra may continue to receive heavy rainfall on October 12. Whereas, during the same time, isolated places in Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra and Marathwada will experience thunderstorms and lightning along with rainfall at some places.   

Monsoon further withdraws
As per IMD, the Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from entire Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh and some more parts of west Madhya Pradesh, entire Rajasthan and some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and Gujarat region.

The withdrawal line of monsoon now passes through Forbesganj, Daltonganj, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Ahmedabad and Naliya.

The conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from most parts of central India and some more parts of west and east India till October 13.
