Renowned newsreader Sudha Naravane passes away

Pune: Sudha Naravane, a famous newsreader from All India Radio, Pune Station and noted Marathi short story writer passed away recently in the city.

She died at the age of 88 due to cardiac arrest.

She is survived by her husband Mukund, three children and five grandchildren.

For more than 10 years, she was the newsreader of the regional news bulletin for All India Radio Pune Station. For many, the day started with her strong vibrant voice. 

Naravane started writing when she was a teenager. She was the daughter of Prof SR Parasnis. She was also a recipient of many literary awards including the prestigious State award for literature.
