Pune: With lifestyle modifications, diabetes reversal is possible, said Dr Jagannath Dixit, who has become popular for his ‘Dixit Diet’.

He added that one should choose any two timings in the day to eat meals and should not eat anything in between the two, walk for 4.5 km a day, follow these two things for three months and diabetes reversal is possible.

He was talking during a lecture on ‘Lifestyle Management: A ‘Symbiotic’ Approach’ organised by Symbiosis Centre of Health Care at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan recently.

Along with Dr Dixit, Dr Pramod Tripathi, endocrinologist Dr Uday Phadke and eminent diabetologist Dr Sanjay Gandhi were invited to share their expertise in addressing obesity and diabetes which are now the most common lifestyle diseases in India.

Dr Tripathi in his topic ‘Reversing diabetes and its related disorders’, mentioned about the four protocols of ‘Freedom from Diabetes’ i.e. diet, exercise, inner transformation and medication.

Dr Uday Phadke during his speech said that diet cannot be considered as the only factor for diabetes reversal but there are certain other factors and those should be taken into consideration while the patient is given treatment.
