Pune: Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO), a platform dedicated to provide resources for students of various levels to hone their problem solving skills and prepare them for more challenging mathematical competitions, will conduct an olympiad in India on August 6.

SEAMO will provide national as well as international rankings to students. Before India, SEAMO has already marked its presence across 11 Asian countries including Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, East Timor and The Philippines.

Students from Class V to XII are eligible for this olympiad. The duration of the exam will be two hours and will have multiple choice questions in mathematics. The question paper will be prepared at the same time for India and other countries with the same difficulty level. Therefore, this olympiad will set a clear benchmark for Indian students’ performance as it will be compared with international students.

More importantly, top 0.025 per cent of participating students will win a Gold Plated Medal, the next 1 per cent will get a Silver Plated Medal and the next 2 per cent will get a Bronze Plated Medal. All students will be presented with a Certificate of Participation.
