Sources close to the family said Pawar has been suffering from persistent coughing and phlegm, leading to breathing discomfort. As a safety measure, he wore a protective mask during travel, while medical support remained on standby. The exact nature of his illness has not been officially disclosed.

According to officials from Ruby Hall Clinic, Pawar will first undergo a detailed medical examination before a decision is taken on whether hospital admission is required. A senior doctor said, “He has been experiencing a cough since morning. We will examine him thoroughly and then decide on the course of treatment. If necessary, he will be admitted.”

Pawar’s health is believed to have been affected by recent physical and emotional strain. Though he had limited public appearances over the last two to three months due to illness, he resumed meeting party workers following the recent death of his nephew and party leader Ajit Pawar.

The steady flow of visitors and political activity in Baramati over the past week is said to have added to his fatigue.
