Officials said the work is essential to ensure a safe surface for participants as well as to complete the repairs without interruption.

The closure will impact thousands of tourists and local commuters who travel daily to Sinhagad Fort. Tourist vehicles heading to the fort will not be allowed during this period, and traffic from Panshet, Khanapur, Donje and Atkarwadi towards Khed-Shivapur via the ghat road will also remain suspended.

To avoid congestion, the administration has advised residents to use the Donje Chowk–Khadakwasla–Kirkatwadi–Nanded City–Vadgaon–Dhayari route, which connects to the Pune–Bengaluru Highway (NH-48). The shutdown will be enforced from midnight on November 24 until midnight on November 26.
