Pune, 4th September 2026: Employees of Singhad Education Society will hold a sit-in protest and demonstrations outside the residence of Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Teachers’ Day, September 5, over salaries allegedly pending for more than 20 months.
The protest is being organised under the leadership of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. Union organising secretary Balasaheb Bhujbal announced the protest at a press conference on Thursday.
According to Bhujbal, the prolonged salary delays have created severe financial difficulties for employees. He also claimed that 13 employees of the institution have died by suicide because of the financial distress caused by the unpaid salaries.
The union has called for immediate action on the employees’ financial and service-related issues. Its demands include:
Immediate payment of all pending salaries.
100% salary benefits under the Seventh Pay Commission for eligible employees.
Payment of the pending 56% dearness allowance.
A detailed inquiry into provident fund (PF) issues pending since 2016 and deposit of employees’ rightful dues.
Immediate payment of pending salaries and all eligible retirement benefits to retired employees.
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has also demanded a tripartite meeting involving the management, employee representatives and the government to resolve the issues permanently.
Bhujbal said the employees would continue their agitation until their salaries are paid and their outstanding financial and service-related issues are addressed.
