Pune: SNDT Women’s University to Showcase 111 Student Startups at Innovation Mahakumbh 2.0

As part of its 111th Foundation Day celebrations, the university will also unveil a statue of Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve and organize initiatives promoting women's innovation and employment.

Pune, 26th June 2026: SNDT Women’s University will celebrate its 111th Foundation Day on July 5 by organizing Innovation Mahakumbh 2.0 at its Pune campus.

As part of the event, 111 women students will showcase startups and innovative projects they have developed during their studies, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ujwala Chakradeo announced on Thursday.

The celebrations will also include the unveiling of a statue of Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve, the pioneering social reformer who founded the university and dedicated his life to women's education.

The statue has been installed at the Pune campus, where Karve began his mission of educating women. University officials and staff took the initiative to establish the memorial.

Ahead of the Foundation Day, the university has launched a series of programmes. A major highlight was a job fair held at the university's Juhu campus in Mumbai, where representatives from more than 60 leading companies and organisations participated. Organisations such as UN Women, Plan India, LinkedIn and FICCI were among those present.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Chakradeo said the university aims to strengthen women's innovation, entrepreneurship and employability through these initiatives.
