Pune, 7th January 2025: A 24-year-old software engineer dies by suicide due to severe financial losses cause by betting. The shocking incident occurred at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) campus in Hinjewadi IT Park, sending shockwaves across the company.

The deceased, identified as Sujal Vinod Oswal, was residing in the Wanowrie area of Pune and was employed as a software engineer at TCS. According to police, he went into the company’s toilet during office hours and allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself with a laptop charging wire.

Investigations have revealed that Sujal had suffered significant losses in betting, which led to intense mental stress. Before taking the extreme step, he reportedly sent a message to his mother indicating that he was about to end his life.

After being informed by the company, the Hinjewadi Police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. An accidental death report has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
