Pune, 10 February 2026: A complete water supply shutdown is announced in South Pune on Thursday, February 12, as the Pune Municipal Corporation undertakes urgent maintenance work at Phase One of the Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant.
The civic water supply department has confirmed that pumping from the plant will be fully suspended during the day.
The repair work includes installing a shut-off plate on the main water pipeline and fitting three new kiosks at the treatment facility. Due to the technical nature of the work, water pumping will remain completely halted throughout Thursday.
Officials have also cautioned that water supply on Friday may be delayed and received at low pressure, as the system gradually returns to normal.
The shutdown will affect large parts of South Pune, including areas along Sinhagad Road, Satara Road, Katraj, and adjoining localities such as Kondhwa Budruk, Yeolewadi, Sahakarnagar, Ambedkarnagar, Tilaknagar, and several residential societies in the region.
In a plain statement, the water supply department said the work is unavoidable and necessary to ensure long-term stability of the system. It has appealed to citizens to store adequate water by Wednesday and use it carefully over the next two days. The administration has also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to this planned maintenance.
