Pimpri: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said here on Saturday that those who are indulging in hooliganism under the guise of Gauraksha should learn from the approach of Bhagini Nivedita towards cows. She said Bhagini Nivedita adopted the Indian way of life which was worship of nature and cows.
A set of four books on the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda's disciple Bhagini Nivedita called 'Chintan Bhagini Niveditanche' was released by Mahajan at a function in Kesriwada here on Saturday. The book has been published by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Nivedita Bhide, Mayor Mukta Tilak and authors of book Suruchi Pande, Mrunalini Chitale, Aditi Joglekar were present.
Mahajan said, "Swami Vivekananda and Bhagini Nivedita was a great symbol of Guru Shishya tradition of Indian culture. Looking at Swami Vivekananda, we can understand what kind of code of conduct a Guru needed. He successfully inculcated the Indian ethos in his disciples' mind in a short period of time which is reflected in all her thoughts and acts. That is the reason why Irish born Margaret Noble turned into an Indian nationalist who became a champion of Indianness. Through all his work, she promoted Indian ethos.
Speaking of Bhagini Nivedita's approach towards cows, Mahajan said, "She was amazed by the Indian approach towards nature and cows. When cow was brought in an Indian family, all members of the family looked after the animal as a member of the family and treat it accordingly. She has wrote about this. This is Indian value system and she stressed on the need of making a picture series on Indian value system. Those who are indulging in hooliganism in the guise of cow protection needs to learn from this approach of Bhagini Nivedita."
