Swiggy Genie helps people share iftar meals with near and dear ones

Swiggy Genie, the hyperlocal service launched by Swiggy, has helped people share their iftar meals with their loved ones as the holy month of Ramzan has been spent indoors due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Making its services a notch personal, Swiggy Genie offered people to take the home-cooked iftar meals from one household to another across the city.

“We wanted to ensure that people do not miss out on the celebrations of the month-long Ramzan while they are breaking their fast at home, as well as Eid. Swiggy Genie made this possible by helping consumers share their home-cooked iftar meals with family members and friends across the city with the help of its dedicated fleet of delivery partners,” a Swiggy spokesperson told Sakal Times.

The hyperlocal service is currently available in over 60 cities and enables consumers to pick and drop household items, home-cooked meals, groceries, and over-the-counter (OTC) medicines from anywhere within the city.

“From festivals to birthdays and small occasions, food has always been a central part of any celebration. With the national lockdown being in effect for over two months, the way everyone used to celebrate these events has been redefined with social distancing being the need of the hour,” the spokesperson added.
