Pune: If you start making a list of some weird robberies in the country, it may continue for years, adding new, strange burglaries with each passing day.

Even when the country was in lockdown amid the spread of COVID-19, a few robbers made use of masks to conceal their identity and broke into ATMs. But gone are the days when thieves would steal gold jewellery, electronic equipment and more!

In a bizarre incident, unidentified men stole a mobile toilet trolley of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The incident took place in Nigdi area between December 3-4.

Mahesh Adhav, PCMC Health Inspector of Sangvi on Monday lodged an FIR with Nigdi police. This incident is not the first of its kind from the region. A similar theft took place two years back when a 10-seater toilet was reported stolen from Bhumkar chowk area but was found later at a chawl in Tathawade area.

Either way, the weird incident has left people baffled and in splits. Some also suspect that the thieves stole it to sell the parts as scrap metal.

In October, a PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited) bus stop, was reportedly stolen in the city. A poster was released at that time by local leader Prashant (Anna) Mhaske, saying "The bus stop in front of BT Kavde Devaki Police Station has been stolen. If anyone finds it or has any information about it, please connect, and you will be awarded by Rs 5,000 cash."
