PUNE: Uncertainty over the ticket refunds for lakhs of customers has only increased with the global lobbying body International Air Transport Association (IATA) suspending all ticketing activities and transactions of Jet Airways via its clearing house.
Reportedly, Jet Airways has approached the refunds through the Billing and Settlement Plan account. Even if that happens, it is going to be only a partial solution. Under such circumstances, passenger woes for refund are going to increase. While most reputed agents are waiting for a refund from Jet Airways or clarity on the situation, a small portal from Pune stands out in its commitment towards its customers.
“When you service, as esteemed customers as Armed Forces of this country, everything else becomes secondary when compared to the interest of our soldiers,” said udChalo.com CEO Varun Jain, a Colonel’s son himself.
Disrupting the travel plans of soldiers due to cancellation is distressing for the personnel returning home after long stints. The unrefunded amount and fresh bookings have added to this distress. The company, sensitive to this, has decided to refund its customers without waiting for Jet Airways to refund.
udChalo is a portal founded by wards of army men, provides for personal travel needs of Armed Forces, paramilitary forces and their dependents. It has most, military veterans, dependants working for them which includes paraplegic and quadriplegic war veterans.
The customer-centric decision of udChalo is going to come as a great relief to our soldiers.
