US Presidential Elections: Artwork created by Pune girl used for public awareness

The organisation held the competition for the best symbol to be used in the US Presidential election campaign

Pune: Think Woman, a Maryland-based organisation which conducts awareness campaigns among women in the USA about the Presidential Election used the painting created by Pune based girl Vaidehi Reddy as a symbol campaign. The 21-year-old from Pune created this painting in 2018.

The organisation held the competition for the best symbol to be used in the campaign. The objective of the campaign was to boost more women to vote and to create awareness and importance of elections.

Vaidehi created the painting two years back. Thinking woman image symbolises of 21 first century woman, her thinking and her inspiration. Vaidehi completed her schooling at the Army Public School at Camp in Pune. She is the first Indian student to receive a scholarship worth Rs two crore from Cornell University in the USA. Vaidehi is also honoured by multiple government organisations for her artwork.

The Think Woman on Facebook wrote, “Winning of Kamala Harris as Vice President of America is historical moment for women on this earth. As she became first woman in past 244 years of America to be elected to executive branch of us government.”

“On this historical moment to pay homage to millions of woman who have scarified their life’s for freedom, gender equality in world, We request you all too just change your Display Picture (DP) of your social media to image of ‘Thinking Woman’ for 1 minutes 53 seconds (1 mins 53 seconds is standard time take play American national anthem. Others can use their own national anthem’s duration),” it added.
