Pune: Investigations into the kidnapping of Advocate Umesh Chandrashekhar More (32), a resident of Dhankawadi, has revealed that he has been murdered by three suspects including a lawyer from Shivajinagar court. Dead body of Umesh More has been found at the Tamhini Ghat. The suspects have reportedly used the modus operandi of murder as shown in 'Drishyam' movie in order to mislead the investigating agency.

Police have identified the suspects as Kapil Vilas Phalke (34), a resident of Chikhali, Deepak Shivaji Vandekar (28), a resident of Ashti in Beed and Rohit Dattatreya Shende (32), a resident of Marketyard in Pune. The trio has been remanded to four days police custody by the court on Monday (October 19).

According to police, Phalke and Shende have offences registered against in the Pune police commissionerate jurisdiction. Shende is an accused in a bribery case in which the deceased advocate Umesh More was the complainant. This bribery case was registered in connection with a high-profile 'land deal in litigation'.

Primary investigations have revealed that Umesh More was abducted from the Shivajinagar court premises on October 1 by the suspects over the past rivalry in connection with the land deal and bribe case. Umesh More was murdered and later his dead body was burnt down by the suspects in order to destroy the evidence. Later, the suspects fled from the Tamhini Ghat area. To evade arrest and mislead the investigating agencies, one of the suspects had kept his mobile phone in a truck so that his location would be away from their actual hiding.
