Pune: A 26-year-old air hostess from Pimpri-Chinchwad area has accused her Tinder partner of sexually assaulting her.

According to the police, the suspect allegedly forced the girl to drink alcohol, took her to his house in Kalewadi and then beat her up before violating her. The girl has received multiple injuries. The incident took place on Saturday in Hinjawadi. The police have arrested a man on charges of sexually violating a girl whom he had met through the Tinder dating app.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Abhijit Sitaram Wagh, a resident of Tapkir Nagar in Kalewadi at Wakad.

According to police, Wagh and the girl had connected with each other through the Tinder dating app. He had called the girl at FML Lounge in Hinjawadi. There he forced the girl to drink alcohol and later took her to his house in Kalewadi.

Upon reaching the house, Wagh started getting intimate with the girl. Wagh also started beating the girl with his hand. He also kicked her with his shoes and punched her face. The girl received injuries to her left eye, right ear and face in this attack.

Wagh has been booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 376 (2)(m) (while committing rape causes grievous bodily harm or maims or disfigures or endangers the life of any person), 325 (Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc, with intent to commit an offence), 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc), 385 (Putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police Sub-Inspector Sangeeta Gode from Wakad police station is investigating the case.
