Pune: It seems the BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) is taking the civic polls scheduled in 2022 very seriously. Almost a year before, Former Chief Minister and current Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis have aimed to make Pune as the top eco-friendly city in the country.

Fadnavis on Thursday visited Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to review development works undertaken by the BJP-ruled administration. Talking to media persons, he said, “Abhay Yojana Scheme for property tax arrears has helped the civic body to generate revenue. Other civic bodies should also implement the scheme. Also, 500 more buses will ply in the city to smoothen the transport system here.” Fadnavis after meeting civic officers also met party corporators.

“I visited Pune to take the stock of pending projects in the city. During the BJP government, many projects such as 24/7 water supply were approved. The administration has now undertaken the project of beautification of Mula-Mutha riverfront, Fadnavis informed.

He added, “Mula-Mutha JICA cleaning project will start from June after tender process is completed. The first phase of 21 km-long route Metro Rail Project will also commence. We will also request the Centre to allocate funds for the next phase of Metro Rail Project.”

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly also slammed Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for refuting consent to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to travel Dehradun in a state-owned aircraft.

Talking to media he said, “The MVA government in the state is egoistic. These unfortunate incidents take place due to their egos. The letter for the permission was already sent to Chief Secretary of the state and CMO. It was completely wrong to ask the Governor to get down of the flight after denying the permission to use the aircraft.”
