Youth Congress to lead protest at Vidhan Sabha

PUNE: The Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) has threatened to carry out a protest at Vidhan Sabha on March 3 if the State government fails to shut the Maha e-pariksha portal. The MPYC said that they have given March 1 as the deadline to shut it down or otherwise will protest against it.

“The decision was taken during an MPYC meeting held in Mumbai,” said MPYC President Satyajeet Tambe. “There has been a demand from the students across the State to shut the Maha e-pariksha portal owing to several malpractices,” he said.

REMUNERATION
Altogether, 200 students studying in Delhi under the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) scheme held a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday for not receiving their stipend for January. The stipend was expected to get deposited into the accounts on February 1. However, it has not been deposited so far. Meanwhile, State Minister Vijay Wadettiwar has assured to disburse the amount within the next few days into the students’ accounts.

DEMANDS
- Stipend for January should be released within two days
- Assurance for a monthly stipend to be released on second of every month
- Clarification about students’ future stay and scheme continuation
