Pune: Around 100 PPE kits and 2,000 N95 face masks were donated to the Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) by Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Sakal Social Foundation. These will be used for the safety of medical officers and staff treating corona patients at the hospital.
Dheeraj Panda, Director of Customer Support, Sales and Marketing at Sany India handed over the masks and PPE kits to Mahendra Pisal, Trustee, Sakal Social Foundation and Dr Vinay Thorat, digestive system and liver disorders specialist in Pune.
Panda expressed happiness at receiving collaboration from Sakal to become a part of this endeavour in order to help people during these difficult times.
“Masks and PPEs have become an indispensable part of our frontline worker’s life, especially the doctors and nurses who work under risky conditions to keep us safe and healthy. Therefore, it is our prerogative to help them through these small but timely gestures,” said Panda, emphasising the importance of safety measures.
The SGH has been at the forefront in treating corona patients since the time this virus entered our country. The doctors, nurses and the entire hospital staff have emerged as an epitome of strength and courage. They have set a precedent and stimulated us to do our bit in this fight against COVID-19.
Dr Thorat said that doctors, nurses, health workers and staff are working round the clock to treat people on COVID situations.
“It is commendable that Sany is providing the necessary equipment to Sassoon Hospital for the safety of the staff. Many such companies and organisations should come forward for this kind of work,” said Thorat.
