Pune: Badminton Addicts will face NKBA in the final of the 63rd PDMBA Team League Championship at Modern Sports Sports Complex. In the semi-final, Evening Stars defeated Badminton Addicts 2-0 while NKBA beat Cross Court ‘A’ 2-1.
Kedar Bhide gave Badminton Addicts a winning start by defeating Kunal Waghmare 21-11, 21-18 in a 24 minute contest. In the second match, the duo from Badminton Addicts, Kunal Gole and Nachiket Dhayagude got the better of Lokesh Sonwane and Nihar Pradhan 14-21, 21-16, 21-15 to seal the contest.
Later in the second semi-final, NKBA started on a good note with Ameya Oak defeating Narendra Patil 21-12, 21-9 in the first match. Cross Court rallied back with Ajeet Kumbhar and Darshan Kulkarni scoring a 11-21, 24-22, 21-17 win over opponents Abhishek Borate and Jairaj Shaktawat.
In the decider, the pair of Ameya and Mayank Gole of NKBA displayed a good game beating opponents Narendra Patil and Ruturaj Deshpande with the score of 22-20, 21-19 to ensure a place in the final.
