Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick helped Paris Saint-Germain thrash FC Barcelona 4-1 on Wednesday in Champions League. The win on Wednesday will help the French club to grip the spot for Champions League quarter-finals. With French star Mbappe in that kind of form, it’s hard to see FC Barcelona playing another epic comeback this time.
After the Argentine managed FC Barcelona ahead from the penalty, Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick at the Camp Nou Stadium to give PSG a 4-1 win in the first leg of their round-of-16 matchup.
It was the team’s first meeting since Barcelona erased a 4-0 deficit by captivating the second leg 6-1 at the same stage of the competition four years ago. But Ronald Koeman’s team was thoroughly defeated at home, even with PSG missing Neymar and now has to attempt a comeback in Paris instead.
Now fans are divided with few still hoping FC Barcelona will create a repeat of their epoch-making reply against the same club when they overturned a four-goal deficit to win 6-5 on aggregate in a round of 16 contest four years back.
