Shahrukh Khan naam to suna hi hoga! Tamil Nadu batsman Shahrukh Khan is back in spotlight after IPL Auction held in Chennai on Thursday ahead of the 14th season. The young prodigy was purchased by Punjab Kings for Rs. 5.25 crore. While, Royal Challengers Bangalore were also interested in Shahrukh and were involved in a war with Punjab Kings. Do you know? Shahrukh was reportedly named after the Bollywood actor and he was a swimming champion at the junior level as well.

The talented player played some crucial knocks for Tamil Nadu in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The 25-year-old scored an unbeaten 18 from seven balls in the final against Baroda. Earlier, he had also scored a 40 (not-out) run knock against Himachal Pradesh, helping his side victorious.

In 31 T20 matches, SRK has scored 293 runs at average of 18.31 in the format. He has also featured in 20 List A and five First-class matches for his state.

HOW PUNJAB CAN USE THIS TALENT

Punjab who desperately needs a good finisher, SRK can prove his talent. The young lad can be used by the franchise in lower-order batting as he can prove his mettle as a hitter. In the mould of Nicholas Pooran, who cleared the ropes with ease for Punjab last season, Shahrukh could use the long handle to good effect on friendly Indian pitches.
