Prominently, both teams are coming of a win in their previous match. While CSK were scientific in their dismissal of Punjab Kings (PBKS), winning with plenty of overs to spare, Rajasthan Royals faced glitches before the league's most expensive player ever, Chris Morris saw them through a tough phase against Delhi Capitals (DC).

On the other side, Chennai Super Kings managed a win against Punjab Kings in their last match, courtesy Deepak Chahar. The right-arm pacer put up a good show of seam swing bowling and he will lead the attack once again. Chahar who had rocked the PBKS top order got accolades from even the Indian team coach Ravi Shastri who tweeted his appreciation.
