Chennai: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will battle Mumbai Indians (MI) in the fifth match of the Vivo IPL 2021, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday.

Despite losing their opening encounter in IPL 2021 to Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians face a problem of plenty. Their regular starter Quinton de Kock, who had to sit out of the first match amid quarantine, was seen training on Sunday and will book his place in the second match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This means that Chris Lynn, MI's top-scorer in the loss against RCB, will return to the bench.

MI Director of Cricketing Operations, Zaheer Khan said, “Quinton de Kock is out of his quarantine. He did a practice session yesterday (on Sunday) with the team looking forward to the season. Yes, he will be available for tomorrow's game.”

Though it was the first match of the tournament, MI's power-packed middle and lower batting failed against RCB. But their power-hitting unit comprising the Pandya brothers and Kieron Pollard among others batting will avoid same mistakes. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult will lead the bowling front.

On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started with a win in IPL 2021 as they defeated SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 runs.

Opener Nitish Rana who won the Player of the Match award for scoring 80 off 56 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes, Rahul Tripathi are in good form and may cause a problem for MI. Later, Andre Russell, Dinesh Kartik, captain Eoin Morgan, Shakib-al-Hasan can keep the score board going.

Coming to the bowling, only Prasidh Krishna (2/35) bagged two wickets in their IPL 2021 opening match. While Shakib, Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell will lead the bowling side.
