 Kakade selected for First Women Achievers award

Pune: City-based Ultra runner and Guiness record holder Michelle Kakade has been selected by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt of India, for the ‘First Women Achievers’ award for being the ‘First Indian woman to run Golden Quadrilateral by foot in fastest time and entering Guinness Book of World Record.

Hundred women achievers from across the nation were selected by Union Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi for this honour. 

The selected 100 women were honoured by the President of India Ramnath Kovind on January 20. 

In 2016, Kakade achieved a Guinness Book of World record by becoming the first Indian to run the Golden Quadrilateral on foot in fastest time. Kakade achieved this feat in 93 days one hour and nine minutes covering a distance of 5968.4-km.
