Pune: Mihika Yadav and Aryaan Bhatia scored contrasting wins in girls Under-21 and boys Under-17 categories to keep Maharashtra’s hopes alive in tennis competition at the Khelo India Youth Games here on Tuesday.
Aryaan upset top seed Ajay Malik of Haryana 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinal face-off and joined Haryana’s Sushant Dabas, who beat Kisan Hooda of Chandigarh 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, in the last four stage.
In the other quarter-final, Krish Patel of Gujarat defeated Gurustat Makkar of Chandigarh 6-2, 6-2 and will now face Divesh Gahlot of Haryana, a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Dev Javia of Gujarat.
Second seeded Humera Shaik of Telangana was knocked out in the Under-21 category by Kaavya Sawhney of Uttar Pradesh 6-3, 6-2.
