PUNE: Ness Wadia had an easy day out, while Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) and All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) registered high scores but ended up with narrow margin wins and advanced into the quarterfinals of the Surjan Super Cup 2019 Basketball tournament at Deccan Gymkhana courts.

In the boy’s section, Ness Wadia downed B.V Physical Education College 71-54 and in the process recorded the highest score of the day. Yousuf Shaikh (42 points) was the top scorer in a match that had a whopping 125-points scored overall. 

For, B.V Physical Education College, Victor Pakhangpa (17) and Sorabh Kumar (19) impressed.

Later BMCC dished out a ten-point win over Modern, Shivajinagar 57-47. BMCC was the second team in the day to cross the fifty-point mark. Gurpratap (14) and Rishi Shhukla (17) were the top performers for BMCC. 

In another encounter, All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) posted a 42-31 win over Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT).

Kaver College: 29 (Tejas Soman 12, Pratik Ubhe 11) bt Sinhgad Academy of Engineering, Kondhwa: 27 (Sarabjeet Singh 8, Rohit Acharya 6). HT: 10-15 
AISSMS: 42 (Sushant Pol 16) bt Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT): 31 (Pinak Kaulgud 18). HT: 22-13.
