PM Narendra Modi congratulates Team India after their historic 2-1 Test series win in Australia

Team India is on the top of the world after winning Test series in Australia on Tuesday. Wishes have been pouring in from all around the world for the team and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated the Indian Test team for their historic accomplishment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Twitter handle wrote, “We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. Their remarkable energy and passion was visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination. Congratulations to the team! Best wishes for your future endeavours.”

India became the first team to defeat Australia at The Gabba in over 32 years when they defeated the hosts by three wickets in the fourth and final Test and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.

Chasing 328, Ajinkya Rahane and co completed the target in 97 overs with Rishabh Pant remaining unbeaten on 89. Shubman Gill (91) and Cheteshwar Pujara (56) also played their vital knock to lift the trophy.
