India's ace shuttler PV Sindhu gave a sudden shock to her fans on Monday as the star badminton player of India mentioned the word 'retirement' on her timeline.

In a lengthy post, PV Sindhu wrote about how the Denmark Open was the final straw and she has decided to retire. The post has gone viral on social media platforms and is making buzz.

She wrote about the COVID-19 outbreak and how it has impacted her. However, the end of the post gives the twist.

"Today I choose to retire from this current sense of unrest. I retire from this negativity," she mentioned, before admitting that she may have given readers a shockwave.

The message carries on about staying careful and not adapting a "lackadaisical attitude towards the virus". Social media users were left shocked but relieved by her post.

The Olympic silver medallist recently rejected a report that claimed she had quit the national camp and travelled to London "after tensions in her family".

"I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrition and recovery needs with GSSI. Infact I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely they were no family rifts in this regard. Why will I have problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake," Sindhu wrote in her Instagram post.

"Mine is a very close knitted family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family members everyday. Also I do not have any issues with my coach Mr Gopichand or the training facilities at the academy," she added.
