Pune: Ranveer Mohite came out all clear above all to conquer his first Every Sunday Rapid Chess title.
Ranveer is a Under-25 State champion and recently he also finished in fourth position in National U-25 Chess Championship.
Ranveer scored 7 points – half point ahead of Siddhant Tamhankar to claim the winner’s purse without any tie.
Siddhant Tamhankar also finished in top 5 for the first time. There was another new entry in Top 5 as Kalpesh Dewang won the third prize. His sensational victory came in 4th round when he defeated International Women Master (IWM) Aakanksha Hagawane.
The tournament was held in 8 round Swiss league format and the Chief arbiter was International Arbiter Rajendra Shidore assisted by Amit Sohany.
