PUNE: St. Vincent’s Night College and Vidya Bhavan scored contrasting wins to earn a place in the pre-quarterfinals of the Srujan Super Cup 2019 Football Tournament at Dobarwadi.

St Vincent’s Night College staged a comeback 7-6 tiebreaker win over PES Modern College after sharing a goal each at the end of regulation time. In the other match, Vidya Bhavan College downed Baburao Gholap College 3-0.

In the first match, PES Modern College went ahead when Omkar Chikane (23rd) found the net to help his team lead 1-0 against St. Vincent’s. St. Vincent’s had Arun Pillay (38th) level scores to end the match 1-1.

In the tiebreaker, St. Vincent’s scored via Austin Pais, Vaibhav Lokhande, Mehul Bafna, Nimesh Bafna, Aaron D’Silva, Arun Pillay, while Atharva Kate, Bhadrayd Godbole, Abhinav Singh, Omkar Chikane, Kanishka Kolhatkar netted for PES Modern.
