Pune: SK Sunderji’s Traheren was steered to a thumping victory in Fair Haven Trophy, a seven-furlong race for Class 1 Horses Rated 80 and upward at the Pune Race Course on Thursday.
It was a disastrous racing day for the railbirds as most of the fancied runners in fray failed to live up to their billing.
London was installed as the favourite in the race and he did his bit till the last 250 metres and withered out tamely to finish fifth after catching slush on the final bend before the home stretch.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal brought Traheren with a flourish on the very wide outside to swoop on the front-runners and register a fine win from Germanicus late-finishing Palatial.
Winner was owned by Shapoor Mistry of Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt. Ltd. And Rajesh Monga.
