Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has made history by becoming the first Indian company to surpass 15,000 megawatts (MW) of operational renewable energy capacity, marking a pivotal moment in India’s clean energy journey and placing the company among the world’s top 10 independent power producers.
As of June 2025, AGEL’s total installed capacity stands at 15,539.9 MW, a portfolio comprising approximately 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects. This achievement comes just 15 months after AGEL crossed the 10,000 MW mark, representing the fastest capacity addition ever by an Indian energy firm.
The current operational portfolio can supply clean energy to 7.9 million households, enough to power the entire northeast region of India. AGEL’s annual output offsets an estimated 28.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions, equivalent to removing 6.3 million cars from the road or planting 1.36 billion trees.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, emphasized that this milestone is more than a number:

AGEL CEO Ashish Khanna added:

AGEL’s achievement is not just a corporate milestone but a national benchmark in the global fight against climate change. The company’s rapid expansion is aligned with India’s goal of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. All capacity additions have been made through greenfield projects, reinforcing AGEL’s role as a leader in sustainable infrastructure development.
